Sustained Chaos: Stillness at the Heart of Movement
Sustained Chaos: Stillness at the Heart of Movement
In Flight, Madrid - Canary Islands
In the philosophy of Budo Taijutsu, peace is not the absence of conflict, but the mastery of finding one's center amidst the storm. As Hatsumi Sensei states: “Those who practice the art of the ninja are active proponents of peace and harmony because these are the ideals that reside in their true hearts.”
Under this premise, a fascinating concept emerges: sustained chaos. It is in this self-sustaining disorder that the miracles of constant practice occur. It is a harmony that, although it often seems unstable, possesses an unparalleled life force.
The Refuge of Non-Attachment
Chaos is sustained when we take refuge in the universal principle that what goes up must inevitably come down. The fundamental exercise lies not in control, but in non-attachment.
By letting go, by not trying to grasp events and allowing them to unfold in their natural direction, we find ourselves in a beautiful space of stillness. It is in this emptiness that the magic happens: everything is created and uncreated, everything rhythmically comes together and separates.
There, precisely at this point of equilibrium between union and rupture, is where life resides.
A Reflection Among the Clouds
This vision is not theoretical; it is felt in the pulse of the journey. I write these lines flying among the clouds, returning to the Canary Islands after leaving behind a luminous Madrid. I am accompanied by the vibration of those wonderful and gentle beings with whom I shared a time of light, reminding me that martial arts, in the end, is the art of living in harmony with the constant flow.
